Brings the iconic world of Monster Hunter to life in an immersive way

Monster Hunter Now brings the iconic world of Monster Hunter to life in a truly immersive way. Developed by Niantic, this action game combines the thrill of hunting fierce monsters with the power of augmented reality (AR), creating a unique experience that encourages players to explore the real world while hunting down legendary beasts.

One of Monster Hunter Now's standout features is its AR integration, allowing players to see massive monsters from the Monster Hunter universe in their surroundings. Whether you're in a forest, a swamp, or a desert, monsters from these habitats can be found and hunted right where you are.

Adds a different kind of excitement

The AR camera feature in Monster Hunter Now adds another layer of excitement as it lets you engage with the creatures as though they’ve truly appeared in your world. The controls are refreshingly simple, thanks to the intuitive tap-based system, making the game accessible for both newcomers and veterans alike. Each hunt is time-limited to 75 seconds, encouraging quick thinking and strategic use of weapons and abilities.

The game's use of Adventure Sync and the ability to mark monsters with Paintballs even when your phone is in your pocket is a fantastic touch. It keeps the hunt alive throughout the day, making it easy to track monsters while exploring your town. Players of this game can also team up with friends or fellow hunters to take on larger monsters, adding a cooperative element to the experience.

However, while this game offers an exciting mobile experience, its reliance on AR can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on your environment. The 75-second time limit for hunts can also feel rushed for players who enjoy more methodical, strategic gameplay. Additionally, the simplified combat mechanics do not satisfy long-time Monster Hunter fans seeking the depth and complexity of the main series.

See for yourself

Overall, Monster Hunter Now offers a unique and immersive take on the Monster Hunter franchise, blending AR technology with fast-paced, accessible gameplay. It provides an exciting and social hunting experience that encourages exploration. However, its reliance on AR and simplified mechanics does not appeal to all players, particularly those craving the deeper complexity of the main series. Still, it’s a fun, innovative option for fans and newcomers.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
